Job Description

ABOUT THE POSITION:

The position is suitable for experienced practitioners who are able to work independently and are excited to contribute to building up our Allied Health team in NSW! The successful candidate will be integrally involved in building the NSW speech pathology team and referral base, lead by our Speech Pathology practice manager and supported by the wider trans-disciplinary team of practitioners across the SAL Consulting team in NSW and nationally.

The successful candidate will be given an opportunity to participate in improving other people’s lives by delivering high-quality, person-centred services, working with a range of clients across a range of needs from short-term involvement, to complex, long-term needs.  This will involve, but is not limited to:

  • assessing, diagnosing, designing and implementing interventions with clients who present with a wide range of communication and swallowing disorders; 
  • participation in multidisciplinary assessments;
  • providing client support including clinic or home-based sessions, training and resource development.

Our office is based in Pennant Hills. The position will require regular travel around the Sydney metro area and occasional regional travel. Opportunities for interstate / remote area projects are available to our team of practitioners at times. There is also an option to work from home for administration / report writing. Ideally this would be a full time position, however, would be open to consider a part time engagement for the right candidate. 

The successful candidate will also be able to access Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT) training through SAL Consulting. 

Desired Skills and Experience

Essential Criteria:

  1. A degree in Speech Pathology and eligibility for certified practising membership of Speech Pathology Australia.

Desirable Experience, Interest and Skills:

  1. Experience or interest in working with people with developmental delays and disabilities;
  2. Experience or interest in conducting Communication assessments, treatment planning and intervention;
  3. Experience or interest in Mealtime Management; 
  4. Experience in supervision and / or mentoring of staff.

Due to the nature of our business, it is required that our staff:

  • have a current Driver’s Licence;
  • have a current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening, or the ability to attain these checks;
