ABOUT THE POSITION:
We are looking for a Behaviour Support Practitioner who has extensive experience in both working with diverse clients with complex needs and staff supervision and mentoring. Key aspects of this role include:
- Providing Positive Behaviour Support for children and adults with complex disability and psycho-social support needs; complex mental health issues; and trauma based presentations;
- Conducting a range of assessments of a client’s presenting issues and support needs, and identifying appropriate supports, interventions and service models;
- Designing, developing and implementing intervention plans and strategies;
- Facilitating the delivery of clinical frameworks and activities;
- Providing client support including clinic or home-based sessions, training and resource development;
- Working with a multidisciplinary team to optimise outcomes;
- Participate and / or lead complex projects including multi agency projects and systemic intervention;
- Coaching and mentoring less experienced practitioners on both formal and informal basis.
Our office is based in Success. The position will require regular travel around the Perth metro area and occasional regional travel. Opportunities for interstate / remote area projects are available to our team of practitioners at times. There is also an option to work from home for administration / report writing.
ABOUT YOU:
- Tertiary qualification in Psychology or a related discipline (e.g.: Education; Habilitation; Social Work; etc.) relevant to the field of behaviour support;
- Experience in working with people with complex clinical presentations within complex systems to achieve positive outcome for clients;
- Minimum 5 years' experience in providing clinical and / or behaviour assessment, intervention and support in the disability, out-of-home care and / or other relevant sectors;
- Demonstrated ability to apply a range of lenses to behaviour support, including Neurodevelopment Attachment & Trauma informed approach;
- Assessment against the NDIS Quality & Safeguards Commission's Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework at the Advanced level;
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of practice or clinical supervision to others.
Due to the nature of our business, it is required that our staff:
- have a current Driver’s Licence;
- have a current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening, or the ability to attain these checks;
- are willing to adhere to the Government requirements regarding vaccinations for workers in certain sectors.
