Job Description

ABOUT THE POSITION:

The successful candidate will be given an opportunity to participate in improving other people’s lives by delivering person-centred services, working with a range of clients (across the age span) with various needs (from short-term involvement, to complex, long-term needs). This will involve, but is not limited to:

  • Providing behaviour support for children and adults with complex disability and psycho-social support needs; complex mental health issues; and trauma based presentations;
  • Conducting a range of assessments of a client’s presenting issues and support needs, and identifying appropriate supports, interventions and service models; 
  • Designing, developing and implementing intervention plans and strategies;
  • Facilitating the delivery of clinical frameworks and activities;
  • Providing client support including clinic or home-based sessions, training and resource development; 
  • Working with a multidisciplinary team to optimise outcomes.

The position will be temporarily based in Canning Vale with a planned move to premises in Jandakot, and will include travel for specific client work around the Perth metro area. There is also an option to work from home for administration / report writing.

Desired Skills and Experience

CRITERIA:

  1. Tertiary qualification relevant to the field of behaviour support (e.g.: Psychology, Education; Social Work; etc.);
  2. Experience in working with people with intellectual disabilities, mental health issues and / or experiences of trauma who have complex needs;
  3. Experience in providing clinical and / or behaviour assessment, intervention and support in the disability, out-of-home care and / or other relevant sectors;
  4. Obtained (or willing to obtain) assessment against the NDIS Quality & Safeguards Commission's Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework.

Due to the nature of our business, it is required that our staff:

  • have a current Driver’s Licence;
  • have a current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening, or the ability to attain these checks.
